Punta Loma: Sea lion and cormorant colony

City Tour + Punta Loma Nature Reserve

History of Puerto Madryn, sea lion and unique panoramic viewpoints of Golfo Nuevo.

Explore two emblematic sides of Puerto Madryn: its cultural history and its coastal nature. We begin in the city center, visiting key monuments and sharing the story of the early Welsh settlement in Puerto Madryn and the surrounding region, ending at the first Natural Reserve in the province, home to one of the most accessible permanent sea lion colonies in the country.

The excursion begins with a tour through Madryn’s historic district, commercial center, and northern area, where you can observe the current growth of the industrial park, one of the main drivers of the local economy. We then continue along the coastal boulevard, with stops at panoramic viewpoints and the Tehuelche Indian Monument.

Afterwards, we head to Punta Loma Protected Natural Reserve, located about 17 km south of the city, where sea lions can be observed year-round from panoramic viewpoints and interpretive trails.

Your guide will provide information about local history, ecology, and the species found in the area. Ideal for photography and for connecting with the essence of Patagonia.

At the end of the tour, we return to the city of Puerto Madryn.
